Loyalty
Slow on the uptake, a distortion
Happiness is sometimes only a small portion
In need of reassurance, perhaps a touch of hope
Maybe help is necessary, or just a way to cope
And I see you, my dear friend
You stayed and you waited
Can you see now how my heart has inflated?
For I know now that I am supported
Where my mind was once afraid and perhaps contorted
I found some sustenance where I thought I’d never find it
And now at last, my hesitation can finally rest
Because you’re my everything, at its very best
