Double Suicide
No one ever saw what I tried so hard to hide
The pain and nothingness, so deep inside
I never expected that someone would break the shield
The façade I worked so hard to build
You saw through my false reactions and extended a hand
You told me you’d been through the same, things only we’d understand
I showed you my scars, inside and out
I told you my past no one knew about
You gave me a shoulder to cry on, helped me conquer my fears
And we were there for each other through the years
But even though we were there for each other, life was still hard
We couldn’t take it anymore, we were far too scarred
We loved each other, but the world had done its harms
And they found us in the river, we had died in each other’s arms
