Porcelain Dolls
Cold faces fixing you in the glare
Of hard unseeing eyes
Delicate
Worrying about cracking
And loosing “perfection”
Fixable, yes
All but their heart of glass
It can be mended but
Eternally full of cracks
Only to be easily broken again
Hiding it under a painted smile and
Covering its faults with
A veil of insults
They are no more than Porcelain Dolls
Cold and fragile
And yet,
They are one of us
They are
People
