To the Beach
To the beach,
I've always hated visiting you,
Not because of the scorching sun,
or the sand,
but the endless sea, and the fear of drowning that followed.
That helpless feeling out of your control,
As you begin to sink further and further,
Tumbling and crashing just as the waves do.
This makes me think that maybe if I learned to swim,
I would enjoy the beach and have a chance to stay afloat.
But no, that sinking feeling has too strong of a current
And it crushes me every time.
I've always hated going to the beach and as
I stand before the sea blanketed with perfection, I start to sink again.
