Bird Watch
In the middle of the night, calm and quiet, I lay still in the comfort of my tent.
Sounds erupt outside, Instantly I’m up, slowly, I exit the tent.
I quietly stumble around barefoot until I gaze upon a magical sight.
1 bird,
two birds,
three birds,
four, probably more, all in a circle.
The moon's cool light intensifies the vibrant gold of the birds’ feathers. The plants, colored like tropical coral. The water in the back glistened as waves calmly rippled by.
The birds in sync flapped their tiny wings, floating up in the sky, the moon crawls under the line of the sea, the sun warms my back as the birds disappear chasing the moon into the abyss.
