the unpredicted bloom

Petals falling off,

Leaves blowing one by one,

Yet it’s still so beautiful.

So outdone.

No one there to water it,

no one there to stay.

It waits in misery

Slowly beginning to decay.

All it takes is some water,

Maybe a little food.

It’s been waiting in the vase,

Waiting to be pursued.

You walk up to it

With confidence and pride,

“I want this one” you say

Holding money on the side.

You give it some worth,

And a lot of attention.

now the past became the present

And the past is what we don’t mention.

The author's comments:

I tried including little snippets about a girl who gets "Revived" by a boy, but I didn't want to say it directly. I thought a flower would be a good chance to display it because of how beautiful they are, even if they are dead or are dying, and it is really important for people to be okay with seeing the beauty when someone is at their lowest.
