Synesthesia
In the Valley of Happiness is only an illusion of what is to come before the blue of sadness peaks like the great mountains again.
Here you toss your sadness into the wind as a way of suppressing it, only for it to come back with the strength of ten thousand men.
You took your hope, your sensation of happiness, and assumed it would stay like the puppy you have trained to do so, it does not.
Here in this meadow, we can only stay for a moment before we are urged on like the melting snow in the spring.
You long to feel a softness inside like the hand of a loved one who reassures you all will be well, all will be okay.
Instead all you feel is the edge of silver, a cold and sharp sensation, threatening to take all that is good away.
You looked under your peace and found yourself fighting like a soldier for it all over again.
Fighting to reach the end, the finish line all racers cross.
Fighting for your happiness, your golden glow of sunshine.
