The Heart of Ballet
As I step on stage
My tutu starts to shimmer.
Yearning and lurking for
Children’s eyes as they glimmer.
Beauty insight as to the work of the sun,
Yet what it takes to get there
Is simply not as fun.
Sores and bruises are what the end goal takes
Yet when I see others get frustrated
My heart starts to break.
Working as a team
Is the best we can do,
And with this helps us from feeling so very blue.
As tensions get high,
Its time to show the art
As we dance, and proform
Nothing less than straight from the heart.
Now the show is over
Our emotions pore over
Yet we can remember,
And take what we’ve learned
So much further.
