A Summers Day
The sun was kissing my skin on that hot summer’s day
As the children nearby would laugh and play
Their giggles and panting were a quiet melody
It soothed my soul and was a well-deserved remedy
My sister and I walked on that hot summer’s day
We were lions, roaring with laughter and lips full of sorbet
We watched people fish and even get bitten
While our little brother was as playful as a kitten
I listened to music on that hot summer’s day
Swaying to the beat and I would say
That the sun up above was also enjoying
Although my mother would say it was annoying
