You won't believe
What I found in my desk
There's that old time machine
That never really worked
The door to my imagination
That I lost last month
The tricycle from kindergarten
The training wheels
That were taken off in first grade
Pictures and drawings
Depicting my life
The wooden pirate sword
I haven't seen since third grade
The sidewalk chalk from fourth
My favorite book
I discovered and forgot
In fifth grade
The war cannon
From the sixth grade feild trip
Along with Attila the Hun,
Amelia Earhart, Newton, Einstien
The founding fathers,
And a bunch of other dusty old guys
From that boring class
I wish was ancient history
And pirate fights
And games of "house"
The monster from under the bed
Sounds like he needs to be fed
A herd of pets
That "ran away"
All the memories
That make up my past,
The stuff that contributes
To my present,
And a thing or two
From the experiences
Of my future

My English teacher has us do journals. This is one of the many poems I've packed inside it.
