The night is long and hard.
I am alone, at least I think so.
In my darkest hour I feel a presence.
Strong arms surround me.
I turn to look, but noone's there.
Still I feel the arms around me.
They stay there keeping me safe.
Finally after what felt like years the sun comes up.
The sun is so bright.
I smile a knowing smile.
For I know that without those arms it would still be night.

I like the fact that this poem, like many of my favorites, doesn't simply spell out all the details. It implies that the arms belong to someone who cares about you and knows exactly what you need, but it enables the reader to form his own opinion about who the comforter is. I also love how the poem explains the parallels between nature and real-life experiences. I can't wait to read more of your work! :)

Ok so first off thanks for commenting everyone. Now I'd like to tell you what this poem means. It's about when you go through hard times and how God pulls you through and how night won't last forever. Joy comes in the morning.
