The Hidden
You hid it so well,
Your hurt and your pain.
You say you are okay,
But inside you’re dying.
You go through the motions,
And give a sad smile.
You wonder if it will ever get better,
But for now, this is how it is.
This is your life.
Yelling, and running from your family,
Crying, and running to your friends.
Your refuge.
The only ones who care for you.
They listen,
They care.
They hold you,
And dry your tears.
And when the tears dry,
On your beautiful face,
You smile again.
Smile, and thank them.
You again say it is okay.
But they all know it’s not.
They know what you’re going through.
They share your pain.
Sometimes, they hurt for you,
More than you hurt for yourself.
Because your smile covers a thousand tears.
You push away the tears,
Behind your hopeful smile.
Hoping that someday it will get better,
And the bitter tears will turn bitter sweet.
And all you are hiding,
Will have to be hidden no more,
Your smile will not be sad,
And when you say you are okay,
Your friends will finally believe you.
