Send Me a Dove
We’re all greeted to open possibilities
But we turn away when there are too many hostilities
We never give out loans
And when we do, we let out a few groans
We never received a gentle hand
All we got was a stinging demand
When asked to share our toys
We say ew to all the boys
Mothers are as empty as pails
Fathers are as harsh as hail
Sisters are nude
While brothers are rude
When did it all come to this?
When did we start throwing fists?
We say we love
But we’re crows compared to doves
Hard work is just for us
We grew up with not a hush
We were traitors
And we were haters
When will we learn to love?
Oh, please Lord send me a dove!

This poem is inspired by the struggles of love. I don't know if I should deeply explain this poem because I believe any form of art should be left to the interpretation. You are the one who decides the meaning. I give you half a painting, it's up to you on how you want to finish it.
