Live,Love,Laugh
Live, Love, Laugh
You beckon me.
I press my fingers
against your sagging cloak.
Your heavy skin
feels rough and withered
to the tips of my fingers.
You groan in agony,
swaying like a door on rusty hinges.
The wind tries to yank
you out of your shoes,
but you are anchored by your mighty roots.
They mean it,
when the dusty authors say,
once in a lifetime.
Ours has passed in a blink.
Your timbers shivering.
You breathe your last breath.
Your fingers decay,
your shoulders,
once broad,
now wilt beneath the weight
of a thousand words,
a thousand laughs,
left beneath your shade.
Once a little plant,
you grew and strengthened,
reaching for the never-ending sky.
I do the same,
climbing through the years,
The laughs,
The tears,
tied into one.
a thousand words,
a thousand laughs,
One life.
One soul,
Tree soul.
