"What makes a flower a flower? And why doesn't the dandelion qualify?" -From my poem "Dandelions"

When you see me all alone
You may want to intervene
Not knowing if I want you to today
When I rest my head
Pretending to be dead
All I do
Is Wish for you
Silently

But when you are near
I mistreat you so dire
Like a moth to a flame you return
Time and again I burn you my friend
Never want you to leave
Though you may think I do
All I wish for is you
Silently

We play games with our eyes
No verbal exchange
Both wanting more
Than dead
And
Silent
Wishes
