down upon the future
yesterday was but
a faded mark
left

stranded

alone on the beach

Time will
always wash
it away.
all of it

The seconds on the clock
will drizzle down
guzzling up the footprints
and they'll fall
faster and

faster

until

it

is

all

away

But...its not just the footprints
in the sand
but the sand
in the footprints
touched and caressed
by so many others

It sprinkles and worms its way
through your fingers
soft and silky
singing out the souls
of a million
a billion
no, everyone and everything
that ever kissed
the sands of time
