Car Ride
At the end of summer,
In the month of August,
My family packed our bags
into the car.
I was really excited to go;
I got in the car and off we went.
Down the roads and streets,
The excitement began to fade as the ride went on longer,
I was bored of having nothing to do,
And tired of just sitting in a car.
“Are we there yet?” I had asked my parents.
“Still a couple of hours to go”.
Looking out the window didn’t help,
The only things passing by us were trees.
I thought the boredom would never end.
But after hours and hours of staring at that,
We pulled into the parking lot of a place.
I got out of the car and the excitement returned,
We were finally there and I was happy like a kid on Christmas.
We could hike and swim and do more fun things,
Now that we were in New Hampshire!
