It was actually that dark.  My dad and I turned off all the lights except one in the other room to give us just enough light to see

This is really pretty.  The flame hasn't even shaped yet, but you can still sort of see the smoke that sort of bubbles around the fire.  Super cool.  Was it actually that dark in the background, or did you doctor it?
