I once said “We paint lines on our faces as if we were natives and spoke our own language,” meaning that my generation is completely obsessed with meeting the standards of others that we pretend to be something we are not. That’s where the inspiration came to take photographs of my friend dressed like a gypsy with Native American make-up.
