"One man's craziness is one man's reality"-Tim Burton

?I am 14 years old and I have always eaten meat. My mom has been a vegetarian for 24 years. She is the reason I don't eat animals today. She always taught me that animals are treated very badly and we can help by not eating them. But I never listened. What made my decision final was just a picture. A simple picture that changed my life. The picture didn't even have a caption. I would have never thought that something so simple could impact the way I live so much. The picture was a contraption that looked like a medical torture device. It was made to hold a baby pig in place and quiet when being cut open, in order to make bacon. The reason I found this picture was because my mom suggested that I look at a page on facebook. The page is made be the organization PETA. PETA is a non profit organization that helps animals and educates people on the cruelty animals endure. I always saw the picture that they posted but this one... this one in particular broke through to me. ?Could you imagine being kept in a cage until your death day (No room to walk around). That's what your chicken dinner goes through. Your chickens cage is so small that she can't spread their wings or even turn around. They get so fattened up that their legs can't support them. And that's just the start to what goes on behind the seens at a factory farm. Pigs and cows are just as bad. They get their children forcibly taken from them and they cry. Your hamburger could have once mourned for the loss of its child. ?Could you imagine being kept in a cage until your death day (No room to walk around). That's what your chicken dinner goes through. I read more into the how animals were being treated in factory farming. You would not believe how a person can do such cruel things to an animal. Cows get strung up by their feet and knocked out (only sometimes) then having something stab it so it's blood will drain. I could never even think about hurting an animal let alone torturing one so badly. People taze chickens just to get them to be quiet. ? I have been without meat for almost 7 months now. I have never felt like I was making a difference in the world until I found out that I could be strong and not eat meat. The temptation is everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I love the tast of meet but I love the feeling when I say no more. I may just be one person but maybe this paper will turn one more. Then they will try to turn other people and sooner then later me being one person will turn into 10 people. The purpose of of this paper was not to turn you into a vegetarian or even get an A. The purpose of this paper was to make my belief known in this world.
