We’re not going to waste our votes!

We’re not going to waste our votes!

We’re not you’re pretty little damsels,

We can throw what we can handle,

And we’re not going to waste our votes!

I'mma get a scholarship to Bryn College

Our education is important, tho ya try and doubt it

The problem is we got a lot of brains, but nail polish

I gotta lot to put in-to words,

Call me fanny fern, I’m ac-knowledged,

We’re “fragile” “little” diamonds, but a 10 on Mohs

Denied study can’t stop us from reaching- the un-reach-able

Call us Athena, you can’t control-her

The patriarchy tries to enfold her, can’t smold-her

Pull the curtain, see her workin’, on her shoulder’s every burden

Her every impact’s always blurred in, pioneer like Anne Boleyn.
Our plan is to get voting rights for all

Our impact won’t be small, and let me tell yall
We are the—

W, O M, E N, S Suffrage truly is the best

We wanna elect our officials potentially

Meanwhile, the govern-men-t ignores us relentlessly

Exceptionally with taxes, or mothering
“But you can have a job!” is what they all told me

They won’t ever offer us, our rights for free,

So now, we’ll rebel to escape this pe-ni-ten-tiary.

Remember we, (we say for our memories)

We’re apt to go to school for our doctorate degrees
We will fight for our rights, like some busy bees,

Finally, you'll witness OUR democracy

We’re not going to waste our votes!

We’re not going to waste our votes!

We’re not pretty little damsels,

We can throw what we can handle,

And we’re not going to waste our votes!

This is meant to be sung to the song "My Shot" in the play Alexander Hamilton, by Lin Manuel Miranda.
