Breaking the Balance of Sacrifice
With every mistake we make, there is a sacrifice we must make to compensate. This is the way things are, and this is the balance. If we don’t study for a test, we get bad grades, if you don’t show up to work, you get fired, if you make a mistake in a sports game, you could lose. There is a balance to these things, there always has. An eye for an eye, an arm for an arm. But what if there was a way to tip the balance. Well, there is: Mercy, or in other words, forgiveness. Why does one forgive? They forgive because there was a mistake that was made and it was forgiven. If we all just forgave each other and forgot our transgressions, where would be no balance. The balance would be broken. The forever going cycle of taking our madness out on each other would end. If someone trespasses against you, why must you make them feel worse than they already do for making the mistake? Forgive and forget and move on with your day with a smile.
