My name
Jacob is a name that has been passed down from generations in my family. My grandfather, grandpa jack, was the person before me. His name is Jacob but saying grandpa Jacob did not roll off the tongue as much.
It is a pretty common name, yet I have only ever met around 6. I figure my name started in my family because of the bible and Jacob being a religious name. Jacob was the second son of Isaac and Rebekah, he was the twin of Esau. In Genesis God chooses Jacob at a point because he believes he is his chosen one, saying he would play a big role in many people's lives.
It has the meaning to supplant, meaning to replace or take the place of something. One may say come at the right time to help with someone in a time of need. Or to be that green light sign of being someone to count on and trust. But it is not a name to just roll off the tongue, the way it starts with the jay sound and then the second syllable just jumps to cub immediately. You really hit that second half of the name everytime.
When writing it out though, it's like a slippery snake slithered silently around the letters. Your hand swiftly moves in and out of the letters writing out the name. I see the name and think of an ocean. An ocean with the most crystal blue water and crisp summer shine. That visual of just relaxing times, of people swimming on a scorching summer day. With a cool breeze that you can feel just go through your hair as you have a grin that is ear to ear. I feel as if I am that fun summertime for some people, and that I supply that joy from one of those summer days.
