The media plays a large part of persuading the peoples opinions. They have the ability to talk bad or good about a subject and share it with a large group of people. Most of the time people are very bias when writing an article, and the people reading the article tend to take their side. If the journalist decides to say something bad about a company it is very likely that the bad press will effect the income of the business and vise versa if the article is good. An example is the book “The Jungle” by Upton Sinclair, Jr. which is about the meatpacking industry. She released news about the places they were being packed that shocked the world. The working conditions were gruesome and unsanitary. This led the government to get involved and make new rules to how the people run the business.

I wrote this because of a controversial discussion that went on in my history class.
