Why You Shouldn't Eat Fast Food
Most of us can agree that fast food is cheap, quick and tastes very good, but it’s not so
good for your body. Eating fast food on a regular basis can cause Obesity, bad eating habits and what could be done about obesity and fast food.
Obesity is like an epidemic that has spread with the growth of Fast food Across the country. 64% of adults in the U.S. are overweight or obese. That means that three out of every five adults are overweight or obese. The food at fast food chains offer a variety of high in fat foods. Even the salads have more calories, fat and sodium than some of the burgers and the Mcnuggets. Not just the adults, but the children in America are overweight. In 2010 19% of all children and teens ages two-nineteen were overweight and 34% of all adults were obese. In the last 30 years Childhood Obesity has tripled. The life expectancy in morbidly obese children is about 25-30 years of age. This means that the parents of these children will out live them.
Bad eating habits will not go away unless you work hard as a child to eat healthier. The parents are the biggest influence on a child, so a child most likely gets bad eating habits from their parents. So if the parent is overweight or obese then the child will likely follow in their footsteps In addition to that, if you are obese as a child you are likely to be obese as an adult. Which puts you at a greater risk of having health problems like heart disease and cancer. Also because of getting overweight or obese eating fast food, children have a greater risk of social problems such as low self-esteem.
To get back in shape doesn’t mean you have to stop eating, you just eat healthier. Have fruit for breakfast instead of a sugary cereal. Pack your child a healthy lunch instead of giving them money so they can buy the fatty foods schools serve them. Go to a gym a few times a week to burn away all those extra calories. Finally pick the right choice when deciding what to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
In conclusion Fast Food is not the right choice if you want to stay away from obesity and bad eating habits and learn new, better eating habits.
