Have you ever went to a cafeteria or a fancy restaurant and ordered/got some food and began to eat it? Then all of a sudden you’re struggling for air, getting light headed, and your vision gets all cloudy. Well then I bet you're choking on the food you got. As you try to take a gasp of air but didn’t work so you start to panic, and clutch your throat with both hands while getting out of your seat waving your arms around pointing at your neck hoping someone will notice you as a huge guy rushes over to give you the Heimlich maneuver, but it’s too late and you pass out in the guys arms turning blue. The next day you wake up in a random bed in the hospital lying there confused of what just happened. Maybe next time you should pay attention to what you eat,
I know I’ve learned my lesson.

There is a lot of other choking then just on food. “Choking is a blockage of the upper airway by food or other objects, which prevents a person from breathing effectively. Choking can cause a simple coughing fit, but complete blockage of the airway may lead to death” Dr. John P. Cunha a medical author and editor for the WebMD network once wrote. You can almost choke on anything. Did you know that “170-190 people die per year from choking on popcorn.” http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_people_choke_to_death_on_popcorn_each_year Think about that when you buy a bag of popcorn at the movies.
Most people who die of choking are little kids because they pick up anything they see on the floor and eat it.” For small children under 1 year, choking is the leading cause of accidental death. Certain foods for children such as nuts, popcorn, grapes, carrots, hard candies, hot dogs, or gum are potentially greater risks for choking.” Toys can also be dangerous. http://www.marksimonianmd.com/things-kids-choke-on/
Thinking about children dying just because they ate a bottle cap that was just lying on the floor makes me sad. The really sad part is if you don’t know what to do as a child sits there trying to cry but couldn’t as you just watch him/her choke silently not knowing what to do and it’s too late to reach for it. You try to call for help but it’s too late, now the child is dead. As you sit there and cry and stare at the cold dead body in front of you, and this all happened because you didn’t pick up a bottle cap. This is why you should pay attention to your surroundings.
