What is beauty?

Is it a brush of mascara, a line of eye liner, a glob of foundation, a coat of lipstick, a dust bunny of blush numerous strokes of eye shadow?

beau-ty [byoo-tee] n. the quality present in a thing or person that gives pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind.

Somehow, I think the dictionary got it wrong. Beauty is not thirty dollars worth of makeup; beauty is not the most expensive, coolest clothes on the market. No, beauty is what's on the inside. Beauty is being kind, being the ideal person. It's not something you can see, it's something you believe within the actions of that person.

People can spend all the money trying to look perfect, but in the end that truly is not what matters.

So many people try to fix their looks but I believe it's pointless.

I agree; people are too hung up on the external look. I dislike the fact that people wear makeup. It's just another way of condoning the idea that the outside is more important than the inside.
