twenty-two minutes, and it goes unnoticed.

In the world today, the media plays God,

and passes judgment.

In the world today, a trial by jury can be overruled

by a single man, and it's called justice.

In the world today, a celebrity can take two lives

and make money off of it.

In the world today, a saintly woman dies and

leaves a hole in the world.

In the world today, a life is only worth eight months.

In the world today, a prison sentence is a blessing

and an open door to a better life.

In the world today, a man of God can use his power and people's trust to covet a boy's innocence.

In the world today, a badge is a pardon to a crime.

A boy gets shot for eating a candy bar.

In the world today, a crippled man is shot

and killed by our "protectors."

In the world today, 8,000 men are sent to keep the peace in other countries.

In the world today, dinner at church is a death wish.

In the world today, a man or woman can kill

without a conscience.

In the world today, four letters are a death sentence, and a legitimate excuse to sign away others' lives.

In the world today, a man can lead us after being unfaithful to his wife; after all, he didn't inhale.

In the world today, we can go through a time warp to the 1800s and lose our equal rights.

In the world today, the bomb squad is called in to dismantle a pipe bomb, but terrorists can still blow up public buildings and not get caught.

In the world today, a country can refuse to disarm

and destroy their death toys.

In the world today, our country can keep active

land mines so they can take yet another life.

In my world today, a friend lies in the ground,

and I shall never stand the same, for in the ground

is a piece of me and my life.

In my world today, there is always a party to attend, yet I still feel alone.

In my world today, the police still harass and pass their hypocritical judgments upon those I know and love.

In my world today, color is still an issue.

In my world today, my life has just begun and is already beginning to come to an end.
