Summary:
Zaire has grown up in a world that is ruled by one word: survival.
Together she and her brother Kaleb have managed to scrape by relying on each other. But when one of Kaleb's routine trips into the outside world runs long, Zaire makes up her mind to go looking for him. But not before she gets saddled with Dimitri, one of the first children to ever be born in the moon colonies. Together they have to wander out into a dangerous planet full of crime, brutality, and disease. Zaire has to protect the both of them, as well as find her brother.
And, quite possibly, a cure for the disease that has plagued Earth for so long.
