The class begins as the girl enters late and takes a seat and starts to draw something on the back of her Math notebook . The teacher looks at the girl and says something to her, but she just continues drawing. Drawing always helped her since she knew that her father was with women while he was at work she didn’t want to have the urge to tell her mother because she was already struggling as it is.

The teacher goes up to her and she looks up at the teacher. “Why didn’t you respond to me when I was talking to you?” The teacher looked at her as the class went silent. She called her outside of the classroom. She rolled her eyes and went outside & started to ignore her.

“Dont ignore me while I'm talking to you!” she said “Or what? What are you gonna do about it? Both of my parents are busy so good luck with that.” she says, giving the teacher a smirk. Mrs.sierra went inside the classroom and called her mom. 

*over the phone*

“-Look i'm sorry Mrs.Sierra but im late to work” Mrs.Sierra gave Maria a death stare  as she smiled a bit and tapped her pointer finger on the table “I understand but your daughter is being disrespectful to me and I will NOT tolerate that so I either send her to the office or you come after school  so we can all talk about her behavior”

“God! She's always causing trouble i'll see if I have time-after school-and talk late-” 

*Call ends*

 She looked at Maria with a serious face “Okay, Since clearly your mom doesn't care about you getting in 

troub-” Maria interrupted “See I told you so, My mom barely has time to be with me, what makes you think she has time for you” Maria said trying to hold in her laugh “Oh and don’t even think about calling my dad because that man won’t answer you for anything.”

She takes a deep sigh “You're gonna scrape the gum off from all of the tables and grade all of my students' tests so that includes staying after school as well as wasting my class time ”said Mrs.Sierra. 

“Ok but like will I at least get extra points” Maria says with no expression. “You'll get a few but it won't do much to your grade and if you do it right just like I told you to-”

 “I advise you Mrs.Sierra i'm a fast learner and finish stuff quick if you explain it to me correctly,so what I grade is up to you” “I'm sure you can do it your pretty smart for a girl like you and so you can do it yourself” 

She gives Maria an innocent smile as Maria furrows her eyebrows lightly then scoffs and goes back to her seat. 

Class ends after 10 minutes (9:30)and she waits for her friends and they talk  until her best friend, Elizabeth says something. 

Maria acts differently with her closest friends, she's sweet  and kind and  helpful but with others she’s not the same. “Maria guess who just asked me out?” Elizabeth, her best friend said 

“You sound disgusted, wait was it Liam” Maria responded 

“Bryan” Marias face quickly went from curiosity to sadness

“Oh” was all that she said but really she wanted to cry because she knew she liked him. She thought that she would say yes, but she bottled up her teeny tiny bit of jealousy and sadness away.

“Hey are you okay you know I would never date him he's not my type and he's ugly” she said reassuring her best friend 

“Oh-I mean -I know you would never but I just can’t believe he would use me to get to you why did he have to do that like what the hell” Maria said and then sighed. 

“Im serious Mari don't overthink it please,  there’s plenty of guys out there that I’m Sure will appreciate you just leave him be he ain’t worth a single CENT let me tell you that” Elizabeth said to Maria cheering her up. Maria chuckles 

She smiled and looked at her and then hugged her “Thank you for always-well for everything. I love you so much but I love R more” Maria lets go of the hug

“I know. Your my bestfriend of course i'm always gonna help you if you ever need something or want to talk about anything or about R im always here”

“Thanks Eli, speaking of R I literally love him so much he means the world to me there is no one quite as perfect as him he will always be 

in my heart, no matter what he’s the love of my life the reason why i'm so happy and-” Elizabeth interrupts her 

“Okay calm down your expressing a little too much there” Elizabeth chuckles and pats Maria on the back 

“What!? I'm just saying what I feel and how much I love him and what a difference he's made on my life” Maria says smiling 

“Mhm sure, let's go on a walk go ask Mel” Elizabeth says as sh points to Melanie who’s on her phone

She goes up to her and scares her “Howdy” she smiles 

“OH MY GOD” she jumps “Don’t do that you scared me” she says as she turns around 

“Im sorry, let's go on a walk yeah” Maria’s says to Mel as she sits down next to her 

“Ohh Okay umm now that I remember I have some tea to spill”she stands up and they start to walk “hurry cause we only have 9 more minutes”

Melanie gets up and they both walk up to Elizabeth and they walk around the lunch tables and start to talk 

“Okay so I heard that Emma tried to break up Vi & her boyfriend she tried to be flirty I heard that she was touching her hair and blinking her eyes and that she was giving him those so called “puppy eyes” melanie said 

“She probably looked like a cockroach twitching.” Elizabeth said, trying to hold in her breath.

Maria, Melanie and Elizabeth all started to laugh as Eli said that, Melanie then checked her phone and saw that there was only 9 minutes left. It was 9:36 until they left .

Elizabeth then said “Melanie what time is it” she asked her this because her parents wouldn't let her have a phone unless she has straight As Maria felt bad for Elizabeth because she found it dumb and useless she thought what if there's an emergency .

Melanie put her head down and rolled her eyes  and whispered “Oh my god” she then lifted her head back up and smiled “oh it’s umm 9:36”

“Oh okay thank you”Eli said then looked at Melanie “Hey, Mel are you okay?”

Melanie looked at Elizabeth “huh?” 

“Are you okay” Elizabeth repeated 

“Oh yeah I'm fine, why?-”Melanie said as she got interrupted “Why did you roll your eyes?” Maria asked Melanie “What?”

“Girl I know you heard me” Maria said “dude, it’s cause I’m tired I stayed up late doing my missing assignments ” Melanie said yawning , trying to act as calm as possible. 

Maria doesn’t say anything except she just lets it be and suspects that something is up with her while she turns to look at elizabeth and sees her worried about melanie while she just gives her a smiles and acts like nothings is wrong something is off about her she must be hiding something Maria thinks

Just then the bell rings and Elizabeth and Melanie go to P.E. together  and Maria goes to her spanish class and enters and sits in her seat next to him she blushes as she seems him in his black hoodie on with his blue jeans listening to his music 

Mr.Obillo closes the door, sits on his desk and calls Bryan over and Bryan stands up and goes over there with a worried look on his face “Did you call me?”

“Ay ay ay Bryan this is what? The fourth homework card?” Mr. Obillo said to bryan as he was marking the missing assignment in his gradebook 

“No, it’s the third which means I have a 30 minute detention I know-look can I at least make up the work later in detention please” he said as he put his hands together 

“Que pensarían tus padres Bryan and spanish please your in class ” he said as he gave him a serious look  “Por Favor maestro, si mis padres se dan cuenta-ok mire deme una oportunidad para terminarla hoy en clase y lo entregó cuando acabe la clase”he said worried

Mr.Obillo sighed and finally gave up and said “Okay pero cuando termine la clase me lo entregas haci como esta y ya okay now go back to 

your seat oh and Maria te va ayudar she has the highest grade in this class” 

Bryan forms a smile on his face once he heard that he has one last chance to finish his assignment that's worth his whole grade, he doesn’t care about Maria, only for her bestfriend thats the only reason why he's 

talking and being all friendly with her, he also enjoys playing with Marias feelings.

He sits next to her “Hey Maria, Mr.Obillio said that you have to help me with a missing assignment” he says as he whispers and smiles at her 

 She smells his nice and very scented cologne Maria then blushes because she likes him no matter what. Elizabeth has told her that she has to let go of him and that it’s not worth waiting or liking someone like him. Maria believes that Elizabeth has a point but that isn’t enough to convince her.

“Oh yeah, no problem, I can help you.” she says smiling “What do you want me to help you with” she says looking at his computer and notes and scoots closer  

“Umm Mr.Obillo wants me to write a story of 15 pages or more in spanish and I haven’t even started, it’s cause I was busy helping-” Maria interrupts him 

“Let's just get straight to the point and it's okay ” she smiles at him and he returns it as well and then she says “Okay so primero que quieres que tu historia sea de”

“Ummmm” he says as in saying  o yo no sé nada mejor hazme el trabajo  maria thinks 

“Tenías algo en mente cómo aver te puedo dar un ejemplo como puedes hacer una historia sobre un niño que va al parque y si encuentra a una 

amigo de la primaria y se hablen y luego de ahi tu ya lo sabes lo quieres hacer” he stares at maria and says 

“mmm okay pues lo quiero hacer pero cómo lo voy a comenzar”

“Lo quieres escribir en papel o en tu computadora” maria says 

“En el papel se me va hacer más fácil” bryan says looking at maria with a sure face 

“Seguro porque luego no andes quejándote que porque perdiste el papel y me andes culpando a mi” Maria says to make bryan do it on computer

“No sabes que, lo quiero hacer en computadora” Bryan says chuckling 

Maria chuckles as well “Broo make up your mind” she says laughing with a nice smile on her face but covers it.

“Ya paren de coquetear entendemos que se quieren pero estamos en clase!” one of Bryan's friends tell them out loud

“Ewww que asco yo-” Maria says but deep down knowing she's glad one of his friends said that

“Ay no a mí me gusta alguien mas-” Bryan gets interrupted by one of his friends 

Bryans friend tells him “si y es-”

“y nos ella” Bryan says interrupting his friend back

 “Oye Maria te puedo decir algo ” Bryan tells Maria seriously as he turns to look at her.

“Si aver dime” she says, making her smile fade away slowly.

“Porque te cubres la boca cada vez que te ríes o sonríes, acaso tienes miedo que te vayan a hacer burlas por tu sonrisa ” Bryan says 100% positive

Maria says seriously while she furrowed her eyebrows a bit “No, No es por eso-yo-yo nomas me gusta hacer eso porque he mirado mucha gente hacerlo entonces yo también lo quiero hacer” 

Maria takes out her airpods,connects them and puts one airpod in her left ear and leaves the other one to hear him (she plays Some by Steve lacy) 

“Okay pues lo que tu digas” Bryan says not believing a single bit he thinks somethings up but he brushes it off like a feather on a sweater

“Mira bryan tu nomas piensa a escribir y despues de ahi tu dejas que tu imaginación tome el control y luego en unos 37 minutos  voy a checar como vas, vale” she says looking at bryan with a serious face 

“Vale” he says focusing on his work and begins typing 

After  1 hour Bryan taps Maria on her shoulder “Maria I’m done is this right?” he whispers,Maria turns to look at Bryan

“Que paso? Ya terminaste” she checks  Bryans work she reads through it “Wow Bryan me sorprendiste  son que? 16 páginas?”

“Si” Bryan says happy “Estoy feliz que hiciste más que tenias que hacer ahora ve a enseñarle al maestro estoy segura que te va quitar ese trabajo ausente”

Bryan goes up to Mr.Obillo and shows him the work “Wow Tienes que hacer este trabajo en un libro ya ves te dije que Maria ayudándote te fuia 

hacer bueno ahora-sabes que te voy a dar extra puntos por hacerlo muy bien”

“Thank you-Puedo ir al baño” Bryan says as he gets his computer back.

“Ummm”  he checks the clock and sees that it's 10:30 “Uhh yeah go ahead” Mr.Obillo says

Bryan goes back to his seat and puts his chromebook on his desk and looks at maria switch songs “Bro that’s a good song why’d you skip it”

“Huh?” She looks at him “oh  I’m not feeling it” 

“Oh, well I’m gonna go to the restroom”

“Okay” she says as she puts more volume to
