Summary:

Damnation is what they cave for, relying to every ick of filth and impulse to break the boundaries. He felt the need to venture out and unravel the unspoken truth. That's what V's and his friends' penance is, -- ignorance and angels are the enemies and immense power must be on their side. Hope was deemed to be their friend, until a sudden prosperity drove towards their enemy's side.
