Summary:

A light knock on my door.

"Come in."

Daisy pads in on stocking feet and climbs up on the bed. I pull back the covers and nudge my head to the side so she can share my pillow.

Daisy is shaking. "Ellie?"

"What?"

"I'm scared."

"We're gonna be fine, Daisy. We're safe."

She looks up at me. "But what if they come here, Ellie? What if they take Daddy away?"

"It's gonna be alright, Daisy. Just go to sleep."

Thanks! Yeah, it's actually set second world war. It starts off on Sunday, December 7th, 1941 - the day of the Pearl Harbor bombing. I've totally changed this story since I posted it, so I guess I have to delete the chapter! :P I added some more at the end so it's not so abrupt at the end.

Thanks for your tips! :)

I think you ended a little early, but beside that, you seem to be off to a great start!

Some facts are a little redundant (cold room, etc), but I could still identify with some of the material.

I'm assuming that this is set in Canada around the early 1900s? First World War?? I'm not sure about the setting...but keep working on it :)
