Long to Linger MAG
Can a journey ever appear so pleasing as when
it finally ends?
And to begin a new journey
Finding a finishing line only to see a start sign
I never realized just how sweet it was until
I started on another path
And I know
The new one will feel the same some day
But the old feels forever ago
And the unfamiliar never invites
The gunshot resounded and my legs want to stay put
If only so that you will catch up
Like being back in time
I left my provisions behind
I’ve got to find it all along the way
All over again
Maybe some live for it
This fresh start
I can only reflect on what was
The ribbon approaching
Only a trick of the eyes
Finishing early doesn’t count if it just keeps going
And there’s no one racing beside me
