They were heroes, and still are heroes. Five guys who changed the way Boston views baseball today. Their accomplishments sparked the love of the game across the nation. Five guys, five names: Bobby, Cronin, Yaz, Ted, and Fisk.

Five guys who were the heart and soul of baseball. Five baseball hall of fame inductees. Five guys who put Boston on the map. The American League was nothing until these five guys came around. They brought hope to the city of Boston. These five guys, would over decades, try to reverse the curse.

Five numbers: 1, 4, 8, 9, 27; were worn by five guys, and will never be worn again. Five legendary All-Stars, with enough records to write a book. Five guys who brought a new meaning to baseball.

Five numbers plastered on brick walls outside of Fenway Park. Five Boston greats, Bobby Doerr, Joe Cronin, Carl Yastrzemski, Ted Williams, and Carlton Fisk, who will live in Red Sox fan’s hearts forever.
