My Best Friend
I was looking for something new. I need a change and something fast. Maybe not something, but someone. A companion to make memories with and to go on adventures, not being afraid to take risks, to not hold back. Little did I realize, I also signed up for someone to save me, when I didn’t even realize I needed to be saved.
I found him: lost, broken and afraid. I don’t think he realized that I was there to help him, or he realized that he was going to help me in the near future. I took him under my wing, gave him the care, love, and affection he needed to grow strong emotionally. Although, even if he wanted to tell me what happened to him to make him so fearful of everything before I met him, he physically couldn’t.
He soon started to come out of his shell, and show me his crazy personality. By him showing me his spunky personality, it brought many fits of laughter. I, along with my family treats him like our own. He was the missing piece to our puzzle, the cherry on top, my cherry on top. He’s my brother from another mother. When I am in need of a shoulder to cry on, he is right there next to me. Or when I’m ready to go explore surroundings far from civilization, out in the open, with amazing scenery, he’s the first one to bolt out of the car to check out his surroundings, but always waits patiently for me to catch up. He is the sun to my darkest nights. He’s everything someone could ask for, My partner in crime. Max, my four-legged, furry, mixed buddy. Max is my rescue pet. And because I rescued him from a shelter, after going through what no dog should ever go through, Max appreciates life much more, and it's evident from the smile he gives me with his tongue sticking out on the side of his face. Adopt, don’t shop.
