First Love
Do you know what it’s like to find your first love? 2017 was the year I found mine. February 14, Valentine’s day, is a very special day to me. You may ask why, but it’s the day my boyfriend and I got together. He’s my first love and always will be
So on that day of course everyone came to school with tons of chocolate, gifts and teddy bears and tons of couples around being so bubbly and cute. I got there pretty early with my gifts that I was going to give to my boyfriend, whose name is Ricardo. I waited there dearly, sitting like a bird on a branch. A few minutes went by and I saw him coming in the school cafeteria with pink roses and tons of goody bags with food! I was SHOCKED. Everyone who knows me knows I love roses and food. He came towards me; I was obviously standing there like a dork with a cherry like face since I was blushing so hard… The first words I remember him saying was, “Will you be my girlfriend?” Once again, I was SHOCKED.
I’ve known this guy my whole life. We grew up watching each other mature, and to see that I got asked by someone least expected is honestly fascinating. The amount of joy I had inside of me. All of those butterflies running through my stomach all at once only because I super happy. We sat and talked until the bell for first period rang and I swear I’ve never had such a huge smile on my face before. I’ve never really liked dating since half of the guys I’ve dated before never really wanted a relationship but Ricardo did.
9 months later, November 27th, 2017. A tiring Monday morning after a full 1-week long break it was time to go back to school. I obviously was excited to see my boyfriend since I didn’t really get to see him over the weekend. It’s fascinating I never knew we’d make it this far. To think that it’s almost going to be 2018 scares me because how does one put up with me? Haha. Next thing you know it’s going to complete a year being with him.
As days, weeks and even months go by it makes me think about how lucky I got and how he’s my first love. Is it just too good to be true? Or am I just dreaming? I think not. Hopefully as life continues him and I are still together. If we ever apart from each other or basically go to our own way then I’d be totally fine with that. He’ll always be kept in my heart and I’ll always remember him.
