A Trip to Disney
The sound of my mother's soft voice into my ear has woken me up eleven times with one of the most exhilarating sayings a child could ever hear. “Wake up we’re going to Disney World.” The smiles would begin to appear and our happiness would flourish as we packed everyone and everything into our car to prepare for the long journey we had ahead of us, to the most magical place on earth. To the place where you learn something different about yourself every time you visit. Disney World has taught me as a person to always keep your family close, be adventurous, and never lose sight of your imagination.
The car took us eighteen hours away to a vacation destination compared to no other. With my family members filling four out of the eight seats in our grandiose SUV the ride down was nothing but excitement. From the games of I spy to grabbing pamphlets at every new state’s welcome center, my family made the best out of the extensive drive. Once arriving on the site of where dreams come true you could smell the excitement arousing not only from me and my sister, but also my parents who have worked and planned so hard to make this the best vacation ever. Families filled every area you could possibly imagine. I can hear the sound of cameras flashing on every corner. Whether the photo be of a character or a ride, people were capturing moments on their cameras, that they will cherish forever. Spending days doing nothing but smiling and laughing with your family creates a feeling within you wouldn't change for the world. From watching Disney movies to being in Disney World itself, the notion of family is never lost.
All of the rides that surround every inch of the four parks are nothing but spectacular. Each one of them telling it’s own story. One minute you will hear the screeches of fear being shouted through the air, to people “ooo-ing” and “aww-ing” at the show they are watching. Luckily, with my family members all around me, I had no fear to try each and every ride, each one being an adventure in its own. From splashing into the Briar Patch in Disneys Splash Mountain to going 0-57 miles per hour on The Rockin’ Roller Coaster, the adventures are nothing less than memorable. In Disney World you are given opportunities you may never get the chance to actually do. Such as, engaging in a safari trek across the Serengeti Savannah of East Africa, where you become feet away from exotic animals. On the other hand, if you are not that interested in engaging with realistic animals, you can take a trip over to Disney's Animal Kingdom where there you are able to trek through Mount. Everest, in search of the elusive Yeti. The adventures proceed through every ride you step foot on. Always try new things and never be afraid to take chances because as my mother always said, “Walt Disney would never create anything that would harm you”.
If I had to state one thing about Disney it would be that it taught me the most substantial lesson in life, to never lose sight of your imagination. If it wasn't for people’s creative imagination life around us would be dull. Imagination fills the air in Disney World. Whether it be coming from the smiling girls wearing their fondest princesses look-a-like dress, to the rowdy, noisy boys trying to defeat Zurg as they take on the role of being Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Disney/Pixar's Toy Story. Each and every amusement captures a person's imagination while they relive their childhood. From taking a tour through the Haunted Mansion that holds nine hundred and ninety-nine happy haunts to fighting off the swashbuckling Buccaneers in Pirates of the Caribbean. While visiting the magical land of Disney World you are able to travel back in time to when worries and stress were never a thought, to when life was just a tad easier. As your inner child begins to shine on your visit, your imagination grows. That is one thing to remember even after your journey to the enchanting world has ended. Always keep your imagination in mind and use it when you see most useful.
Disney World has an effect on every person who visits. From keeping your family close, continuing to be adventurous, and to never losing your imagination as you grow up, are all just some things the magic from Disney has taught me. The sound of laughter, the shrieks from rides, the aroma from the Confectionary Shop, and the sensation from the hot sun on your skin are all things you will be able to experience once you arrive. Although none of these seem to mean much in the moment, they all will have a different effect on you in the long run. But, from everything you may learn about yourself from your visit, never forget “...that it was all started by a mouse”(Walt Disney).
