I've Just Been Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
My most recent evaluation shows that I've been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and I'm in the mild range level 1 on the spectrum meaning that I have trouble with my social skills interacting with the other kids my my own age at my school. I have my best friend that I know how to interact with real good because I get along with her and it's easier to talk to her one on one than when she's with her friends and doing homework at lunch.
Sometimes I feel like I don't fit in with the other kids at my school because I have trouble joining in, carrying on, and starting up conversations with the other kids and I feel left out. Whenever I'm in class and my teachers say: "you can work with a partner if you'd like." or he/she will say "I'll put you into groups." and I'll get put into a group of kids and whenever my teachers do put me into a group of kids they just ignore me and I feel like I'm in the background.
