a walk in the rain
there's something so calming about walking in the rain. The gray skies that finally match your mood, rather than taunting you with blue cheeriness. The humidity pressing down on your shoulders, giving a body to your metaphorical deadweight. Music of your choice, pulsing through your headphones, and matching your feet to its' tantalizing rhythm. You see all the other people, scrambling like ants, caring about their hair or their backpack, but you've long since passed that point. Slowly you walk, knowing but not caring that you'll be cold later, to your destination in the rain. Water droplets drum soflty onto your clothes, you feel the moisture slowly seeping through. Cold fingers grasp your muscles until they buzz with an electric rhythm. Your hair sticks to your scalp, your shoes trudging through the forming puddles. You do not care. Later, you will regret this stroll in the rain; but for now, just keep stepping and enjoy the music.
