Friends
Tuesday, October 27, was the day I have learned about what happens when I mess with a friends electronics. It is an alarming experience i had. When it started it was cold. I had just come from lunch where I had ate orange chicken and rice. It was mouthwatering. I was outside on the grass. Hanging out with my friends. The wind was blowing. We were playing jackpot with a football. As gravity had its effect on the football, everyone was ready.
As the ball made its landing, everyone panicked, jumped, and shouted; only one could grab the ball. But behind everyone were my friends Josh, Jacob, CJ, BJ, Ethan, Shawn and then me; we were just talking about video games and other related topics. As we were talking and walking around, my friend was listening to music on his iPod 5. While doing that, he put it on his head.
It seemed like time froze at that very second, there was laughter, screaming and kids horsing around while we stopped in the back of the playground. I was wanting to play a joke on Keyonno and I tapped his iPod. Now when this happened it looked like he had his hands out ready to catch it if he knew what i was doing, but i was also thinking about the possibilities of it going wrong. Would he still be my friend? Would he never want to see me? How much would it cost to replace? I was frantic. The only sound it made was a PLOP. Everyone froze and he slowly bent down and reached for it. When he turned it over the screen was shattered from the bottom right corner up.
“Dude, my mom is going to kill me,” he said. Everyone else that was there was asking why i did that, and that i was an idiot. But i just ignored it and said “I don’t know.” The day continued like normal as I went through the rest of the hours of the day. Key was telling friends what happened like what people would usually do. We were acting irresponsible as boys usually are and he had a neutral response to me he was not mad nor happy. The day was over and I was on the bus going home. I was having a fun time talking to my friend Adam and everyone else about how the day went and i just did not talk about what had happened earlier that day.
But when I got to my house I was nervous and afraid of what could happen if my parents found out what happened. So I just played it off and tried to keep cool but it was hard and I soon broke my silence and told my dad and he didn’t understand why I did it so he said that we would talk to mom about it. Later that evening when my mom came home she felt like it was his fault for bringing it out there and I was upset and scared because this was the first time something like this ever happened to me, so we just talked about what the price was for the iPod to get repaired.
So my mom and I talked and the next day I told Key that I would pay him and later that night our moms talked and focused on a price of 100$ because that is what it usually is to get it repaired. I felt it would be the responsible thing to do. So the next day I gave Key the check and we never really talked about it again.
