The phone shook the king size bed like an earthquake and buzzed. Buzz, buzz, buzz. The square screen flashed Lewisville Hospital in black small letters. Carolyn reached for the red phone. "Hello," confusion filled her smooth soft voice. A warm robotic voice responded back. " Hello this is nurse Jackson. I have a patient here by the name Tom Burns. "Her lungs opened as she took a deep breath, while her heart beset in her ears. Thump, thump, thump. "Ohhh my gosh!!! That's my nephew!! Whaaat Whaaat happened?!!!, " she stuttered. Nurse Jackson clamly replied "He's lost a lot of blood Ms. Kit, I think you better get here. "

Sweat swammed down the boys' faces in the hot gold Camry. JD, tall skinny and black was resting in the drivers seat. Laying a white towel on his narrow flat nose. Tim, light skinned and lanky sat in the passenger seat tapping at his black phone. Tom leaned back on the back of the back of the dirty back seat. He rested his head on the rest of the seat. Thinking of how they would get money. They were all broke. Flat broke, not a single penny to their name. JD and Tim were high school drop outs and Tom was headed in that direction.

At six in the morning on Monday, Tom had awoken by multiple sings from a belt and loud booming voice from an angry mother. Tom had been on a road of rebellion. The past weekend and months, he strides out of the house or sometimes window. As a twenty year old would do, he would party, smoke and have a good time as long as he wanted. To his family this meant Tom was missing. No sign left behind of where or who he was with. Though that Monday morning Tom decided he would do something his mother wouldn't see coming.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thuresday had went by. Tom was out for a pool of thrill and money. Money he no longer received from his mother. Though he was tough as nails. He knew the streets would feed his hunger.

"Hey!!" y'all we need money! We're almost out of gas and this car is hot! We need some AC." JD's raspy voice dragged in the car.
"Mannn, I need a blunt! " my mom probably has the rats looking for me and y'all know when I use to mess around with Karina! Well we went in her moms room once and their was this huge jewlry box full of jewlry!!" Nobody's home and we need money, plus Karina wouldn't give it up!"

"Tom are you crazy!?!" Tim yelled. "C'mon Tim don't be a **** . Its not like we haven't done this before." JD conjured the car alive and the engine roared as he drove towards Karina's. No car was visible in Karina's broad, gray driveway. The house was wide with red and grey bricks and two oval shapped windows in the front of the house. The boys stared at the house until the car door slammed. Tall, light-skinned, 5'10 and lean. Tom strided fearlessly to the side of the house. The boys motionlessly followed suite. Tom appeared on the side of the side of the brick house. Stared back at them was a long rectangle window. Embordered by a tin, gray screen cover. The boys plowed the screen protector away from the house. A brown curtain swayed side to side on the other side of the window. Crash, slash, a ring of glass fumbled to the ground. Tom started to whinne and whimper. Tim and JD focused their eyes on Tom's right arm. Mutiple vines of dark red blood flowed out of his arm. Red and pink meat screamed as the wounds were born. "Tom!!!!! C'mon go to the car!!" JD voice shook and Tim fell quiet. A stream of tears ran down his dimples from his hazel and grey eye. They charged toward the deserted car. " Tom were taking you to the hospital!" A paint of blood stained the tan back seats, gray shirt and his arm. Tim reached for a dirty pink shirt.

This piece is very personal because it is about my little brother who is very rebellious. This event happened last week and is hopefully a wake up call for him.
