Twitter Takeover
Kevin Curwick, an 18-year-old student in Osseo, Minnesota, made a Twitter account to compliment other students. Curwick decided to make this page because of all the negative tweets going on throughout his school. His twitter name is #nicest guy on twitter.
“I created a nice page to help the kids who were being attacked,” says Curwick, “and other kids who I thought could use a boost in confidence.”
The twitter page is anonymous. Curwick receives direct messages on twitter from the students at school who think should be complimented or tweeted about.
Curwick says, “It’s cool, because obviously I don’t know everyone, but I get to learn about the underclassmen and their talents.”
“Using social media to compliment people has really made cyber bulling un-cool,” says Curwick.
Curwick has started something new and out of the ordinary. Since he will be graduating this upcoming year, he plans on giving the account onto an underclassman and hopes for it to continue.
“It would be cool to hand it down to another student who can carry it on.” Says Curwick. “It can be anonymous again. And it can just keep going from there!”
Curwick hopes for the best with his twitter account. He hopes that making an account like this will help with cyber bullying and teach kids a lesson.
