After an eternity of hardcore cardiovascular training, the soccer team deserves to gain all the weight back that we lost over the thousands of sprints we ran leading up to the first game. The thick smell of grease rising through the air gives a glimpse of the heart attack of a meal that lies ahead for the crew and me. Each player comes for his own greasy desire. Some go right for the cholesterol and pick up the extra thick cheese pizza and cheese fries; a specialty at Tori and Luke’s just down the street from the fields. The cheese not only dangles from the side of pizza, but ends up mixing with the much deeper orange cheese in the fries. As soon as the cheeses blend together the least known but most infamous three cheese pizza is born. Touched by the hand of God these cheeses are transformed in a way only a trinity can provide.
Others seem to go for the original cheese burger. I fully support their decision and thank them for eating that symbol of America. The burger is stacked high. High enough to kick start any consumers’ taste buds. The two crisped buns hold the precious beef patty, bright red tomato, light green lettuce, and most importantly, the delicious layer of grease! Mmmmmmmm yummy! This burger surpasses all others. If you look pass all of the nutritional facts!
The one food that always has me salivating isn’t a food at all. It’s the chocolate shake. It not only freezes my brain, but melts my soul to the core. There have been many nights where I have dreamed of this masterpiece. Once a year before the first home soccer game I indulge myself with this heavenly drink. Even though Tori and Luke seem to fatten up the team for slaughter, (metaphorical of course), the team and I still march out onto the field with pride knowing we have bonded in a level higher than any previous.
