When I was in preschool, I was cookie monster for Halloween. My sister Whitney was Big Bird. We both had our own stuffed animals and we brought trick-or-treating. We always watched Sesame Street and they were our favorites.

On the night of Halloween, my family went to my Grandma and Grandpa Arthur’s house to get dressed and take pictures before we went trick-or-treating. My mom decided to take us to my grandpa and grandma’s house to go trick-or-treating and so they could see us in our costumes. On the way there I was feeling sick. I had a really big headache and just felt sick to my stomach. When we got to my grandparent’s house, I walked up the steps and into the house. Right when I walked in the house I threw up right by the door. My Aunt Tammy had a baby at the time and grabbed the car seat that he was in and took him outside because she thought he was going to catch something. I still remember that because she made me feel bad because she was saying how gross it was. My grandma told my uncle to take me into the bathroom. After I was done getting sick my family left and my mom took me to my other grandma’s and then took the rest of my sisters trick-or-treating.

My grandma gave me some medicine for my stomach and gave me some Pepsi to see if that settled my stomach. It did not of course because I got sick again, only I made it to the toilet that time. She tried giving me other things, but I couldn’t hold them down either. My grandma let me pass out candy since I didn’t get to go trick-or-treating. I wasn’t scared of most of the kids that I handed candy out to, so I handed them out by myself. When these three big kids came and they had these masks on that were black and they didn’t show their faces, I was so scared. I would not open the door. I hid behind my grandma and she handed out candy to them because I was too scared. After they came I went back to handing out candy to the rest of the kids.

When my mom and sisters got back from trick-or-treating, they gave me my bag of candy. Even though I couldn’t go trick-or-treating, they took my bag with and got me candy. I was really happy about that. I will always remember that Halloween because it is the Halloween I didn’t get to go trick-or-treating.
