manhunt in the rain
As I thudded in the wet mud I looked back out of breath. I think of how excited I was earlier compared to my feelings of anxiousness and stress as I run through the woods being chased. My feet began to sink in the mud as I stopped to catch my breath and I looked back I run again as the pouring rain pelted me I ran through it and suddenly I found my self falling. “Gasp,” I am sinking in the mud I get up and the mud is pulling at my clunky boot I sit there like a helpless animal waiting to be caught then he comes around the corner and trips in the same way I did but he got right up and said “1, 2, 3 you are my man” and I had gone to jail soon after I was broken out by a good friend he then sprinted away and I chased him. Suddenly the sun’s light showed through the thick trees leaves and the rain glistened into white glowing balls and plopped and splatted on the leaves. He ran around a corner and I skidded around it only to find the area he could have ran empty. Then I get pulled and I realize it was him and he says “what are you doing?” “Looking for a place to hide!” I quickly responded. I ran under a bush and covered myself in mud.
A friend of mine was on the other team and he looked around and walked by me and passed as if he didn’t see me but I knew he did so I moved next to a tree trunk surrounded by poison ivy and I had stomped through the poison ivy as if it wasn’t there because my big boots had protected my ankles and my jeans had protected my legs but I sat and watched him try to infiltrate my old position but when he turned to where I was and looked surprised. So I kept moving while I kept my eye on him and I tripped and fell in to a creek bed that was rushing with the green- brown water and got rolled in the water and finally got caught on a rock. I finally got up and ran to where I was before and saw my friend was still looking for me or someone else and I let out a sigh of relief when he walked away then I ran as fast as I could but as I ran I realized the rain was coming down so much it was creating puddles in the ground my feet sank in the mud as I ran and I began to trudge through the marshy land and the rain kept on getting worse as I moved and I was walking for five minutes and saw somebody but with the heavy rain I could only see their shape and they just stood there and I stood still and I thought I saw them look at me and it walked away so I chased it and it began to run and I called after it “wait” and it ran and eventually I caught up and I began to see them they were wearing a blue coat and I realized it was just my friends friend and I was able to stop him and he thought the same thing I was thinking when I first saw him and he told me that he only saw my outline and got a little creeped out when I stood there to look at him. Soon after the rain was at its worse and we had to stop the game.
Though this all happened a year ago and after the game we did some other activities later in the day and we left and I was home as soon as we came to college settlement camp we were gone it was very fun and we were back in school soon after we had talked about it for a while and we were always going to remember that fun experience.
