Guns Drip Hate
"I need to find him before they do. Oh God, don't have made it so." Sweat poured down her face. Her heart raced and fear had made her fingers lock around the silver glinting knife. She holds her breath and prays to God they can't hear her heart. The sound of footsteps alerts her to their presence. They rushed into the alleyway searching with guns drawn for the witness to a crime, a ten year old.
"Where is she? Stupid kid. We'll find her and she'll regret it big time."
"Ya. Leave no witnesses." Replied a guy in a tone dripping with fury.
Time then passes slowly, almost feels as though it's stopped. " They must be gone. I have to go find him. He's the only thing I have that is close to family." She then does the only thing she knows: She runs. People blur as she runs past. Abandoned buildings she had never seen before seemed to call to her now as a safe haven. One building in particular had drawn her in. A factory that was claimed as unsafe marked with graffiti and red caution tape had nearly dragged her into it's depths. Blood splattered the floor. She walks around the corner and finds him. He was shaking. The blood wasn't from him though. It was from one of the gang members.
"Are..are you alright?"
"I am."
The two men had followed me and I heard their cruel voices."Ya hear that? She's here." In a split second Adrian was up and pulling her with him. They began to run but she had dropped to the floor when a shot was fired and Adrian had crashed to the floor a gaping hole in his chest.
"Adrian! Oh my God! Oh no...No,no, no."
One of the men hollered "Yo let's bounce!"
She embraced him with all the strength she had while pressing her hands to the wound to stop the blood. " Stop damnit! Why won't you stop!" He had already bled too much to save him. He was cold and his pulse was very slow. "Why?" She cried as his body suddenly went limp and cold in her lap. Tears flowed falling onto her brother's pale face. Too scared, furious, sad, cold, and stiff she didn't move for hours till finally the police came and the only thing left of her senses was her sight.
Rain poured harshly onto the torn up concrete. Sorrow creeps through her body as she walks along the dirt path leading to the cemetery. His voice plays over and over in her head sweet, soothing, and caring. "Girl one day your gonna see your name in lights and your gonna look up into the sky tears in your eyes and the only word that will play across your lips is my name." At this she smiles.
