Pictures
Something I can’t live without is a camera and taking pictures. A camera allows me to take pictures of people or places I want to remember. Pictures allow me to revisit some of my favorite memories with my friends or family.
There is one picture in particular that I have of me and my friend Angelina sitting on a bus going to our Field Hockey game. This picture helps me remember the amazing win we had to advance to the state championship. When I look at the photo I get a feeling of accomplishment and nostalgia. Being able to look back and realize how far we went last season helps me also have motivation for this season. It also helps me motivate myself to become a better player. It also reminds me of my friendship with Angelina and how much I value her as a person and her opinion.
If I wasn't able to have a camera and take pictures then I wouldn't remember most of the things I do in a day or I wouldn’t have anything to trigger any memories. Photos can trigger our brains to remember what we were doing in that photo or what major event happened on that day. My life without photos would be a life without memories. Photos are also important because they can connect us to our past, they remind us of people, places, feelings, and stories.
Another example would be a picture of my brother and I when we were younger. The picture is of the both of us smiling and hugging each other on the couch in our living room. It reminds me of how much I love and value my brother. The photo also gives me a sense of security knowing that he will always be there for me. It reminds me of a time when life was more simple and when we didn’t have to worry about more grown up issues. To wrap things up, something I can’t live without and I really value are cameras and pictures.
