The Donkey
Once upon a time, there was a laundryman who hired a donkey to help him transport clothes from his house to the riverside and back. However, this donkey didn't like the food his owner gave him. So, it decided to go to a nearby field to eat the grass it loved.
One day, while on its way, the donkey met a fox and became friends with it. They found a field filled with watermelons and ate together. The watermelons were so delicious that the donkey ate a lot and excitedly said to the fox:
- I want to sing!
The fox replied, "If you sing, the humans will know that we are destroying their crops, and they will come running to chase and kill us."
The donkey didn't listen to the fox's advice and still started singing. Eventually, the villagers came and taught the donkey a memorable lesson. But the clever fox had already escaped long before. Those who are stubborn, conservative, and never listen to others always have to face bitter consequences.
