The Bully Problem
Hi y'all, it’s André but you can call me André (pause realizing what he just said). Okay it’s story time. Let’s begin many moons and nights and rotations around the sun ago, I was in second grade. I was small, fast, annoying (so are most second graders, I guess). I was on the playground, not knowing that there was a war about to start, enemies at every corner. Or at least that’s how it felt like to me. One day, I was walking on the playground I was alone and sad, having no friends. Then from behind the play structure came Brandon and he pushed me down. Now I didn’t like Brandon at all, because he was better than me at a made up game at my school called “Kickball Foursquare.¨ It was like Foursquare except it's not. Then I saw him run next to one of my neighbors named Logan. Now this is not my current friend Logan who I’ve probably mentioned before, and if I hadn’t, I have now. So no, this is not that Logan, this Logan was a vicious, evil, neighbor of mine who wanted to eat my soul. That last part probably wasn’t true. So in this story he will be called Evil Logan. When I got up a kid named Austin ran over, picked me up and threw me (not very far though because he was a second grader). Austin was a big kid and was part of a group of dirty kids. But compared to kids in this grade he’s probably as clean as a jelly bean, no that doesn't work, as innocent as pigeon! Wait that didn’t even rhyme! Falafel! What I’m trying to say is that compared to kids in this grade he is pretty clean. All recess they teamed up and hurt me pushing me down and yeeting I mean throwing me. I should have ran away but I didn’t for some reason. Not sure why yet. Hm? Second graders are weird.
“Stop!” I yelled at them.
“No!” Brandon refused. He looked at the others who nodded at him in agreement.
“But why?” I asked in confusion.
“Because we’re bullies and the antagonist of this story you’re writing,” said Evil Logan saltily.
“Wait! How do you know that I’m going to write this into a story?” I asked puzzled.
“I don’t know,” Evil Logan responded.
“Wait, this story takes place in the past,” Austin mentioned, “So how do we know about this. We’re just second graders and shouldn’t know about this.”
“This makes no sense,” I said.
“Anyways,” Brandon interrupted. They kept beating me up all recess until it was over.
The next day I was walking in the playground again. I wasn't very smart, so I didn't expect them to attack me again. Then Evil Logan ran over and pushed me again.
¨Loser,¨ he mocked. When he said that, Austin and Brandon ran to both sides of him.
¨I’m tired of you hurting me!¨ I yelled as I got in my Iron Man suit and whipepd out Captain America's shield and Thor's hammer. And at that moment I realized that I've been watching too many Marvel movies to think this actually happened. So no, I did not get out any cool superhero stuff. But I did attack Brandon with the most powerful attack know to man! Shoving him. He fell to the ground and then the war started. We ran around attacking each other, all getting solid hits. Evil Logan and Brandon were easy to take down, but Austin was really hard to overpower. He was so big he wouldn't even move! So I devised a plan. Evil Logan and Brandon ran at me from both sides. Because Brandon was faster, he reached me first. So I grabbed him and used his momentum to throw him into Evil Logan and they both fell. Then I jumped on Austin´s back. As Austin tried to get me off, I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned back. This caused Austin to fall. As soon as my feet hit the ground, I moved out of the way, so I wouldn't be crushed by the falling man. When I was out of the way, he hit the ground, causing an earthquake and behind me, there was an explosion as I stood over the vanquished foe heroically. At least I wish it was like that. Insted the teacher got mad at us, and all four of us got in trouble. So always remember violence isn't always the way and it's okay to run away. So thank you for listening or reading. I don't know how this is currently being told. But thanks. Bye now.
