The Girl: Part I
I’ve been quiet. I’ve grown past shy and and nervous, I feel mute and plastic. When I bared my soul it was burnt to ashes. So I began to create the person that I show to those who need it. It’s not who I wish I could be, it doesn’t even come close. But it’s good enough for you. It let’s you forget what happened. It lets you forget how you hurt me. It makes you believe that I am on your side. So this girl that I live through; she laughs at the dinner table, she does all her chores. She says please and thank you. She will do anything she’s asked. She sings in the shower. She keeps her room clean. I built this girl for you.
